Ara Malikian is a Lebanese-born Spanish violinist of Armenian descent (1968). He has released over 40 records, has created his own orchestra and taken part in countless shows. In recent years, Ara Malikian has performed internationally, putting on concerts in the world’s most prestigious auditoriums and theatres, from London, Paris and Rome to Beijing, Hong Kong and Mexico City.
Ara Malikian’s relationship with garages dates back to 1976; at that time, the ground-breaking bands would rehearse in their parents’ garages, creating a sound and style that would change the history of music forever. As such, he felt he just had to become part of that movement. This inspired the concept of his latest album Royal Garage which takes in the garages of Ara Malikian‘s life in a range of countries, creating a “sonic tour” of the different styles that woven their way into his career. From the largest and most spectacular venues in the world to the most intimate theatres, Ara Malikian and his violin have thrilled the audience, filling every corner of the room with unique sensations. In the Le Petit Garage tour, Ara Malikian on the violin and Iván “Melón” Lewis on the piano will give us a rendition of a range of songs from a more classical point of view.
