The most successful Catalan band will present their last album, Per la bona gent.
After hitting the number 1 spot on the official sales chart (physical and streaming) with Per la bona gent, and becoming the only artists with songs in Catalan to do this four times running, Manel set out on a tour that was unfortunately cut short by the pandemic. Far from taking a backseat, the Barcelona-based band returned to the stage in mid-2020 with their best show yet and took the opportunity to finish three unreleased songs.
Produced by New York’s Jake Aron, “L’amant malalta” is more than just an appendix to Manel’s commitment – always risky and radically contemporary – to the combination of tradition and electronica: it expands the limits of their pop style, which is open to hip hop, R&B, synthesizers and everything imaginable. Guillem Gisbert, Martí Maymó, Roger Padilla and Arnau Vallvé’s first EP will be intertwined with their classic repertoire. The band’s history has only started, with some five-hundred concerts across Iberia, and also in the United States, Argentina, Mexico, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany and the Philippines.
