The local artist from Empordà is presenting her new album, Toda la vida, un día
Sílvia Pérez Cruz is one of the most breath-taking voices to emerge on the scene recently. She is a composer as well as a singer, and has spoken the language of music for as long as she can remember. Pérez Cruz grew up surrounded by Iberian and Latin American folk songs and went on to study classical music and jazz. With flamenco running through her veins in an almost supernational connection, she sings in a way that only she can, sending shivers down listeners’ spines.
In 2022, she received the prestigious National Prize for Contemporary Music (awarded by the Ministry of Culture) and the Pop Eye al Duende Award, both in recognition of her career, as well as the Pávez Award for Best Original Soundtrack for her work on the short film Maruja (Berta Garcia-Lacht, 2021). She also participated in the Territorios project alongside Liliana Herrero and Maria Gadú.
The Catalan artist is set to release a new record, Toda la vida, un día, in the spring of 2023, an album of original songs featuring collaborations with some of the top names in the industry.
